We are looking for

Global Head of IT – Digital Platforms & IT Operations (m/f/d)

at one of our locations in Germany - in Pfullingen and Hausen i.W.

Your tasks:

We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Global Head of IT to lead the transformation and optimization of our global IT organization following recent merger activities. This role is critical in building a unified, high-performing IT function from a previously fragmented structure, with full responsibility for Digital Platforms and IT Operations. The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with technical depth, driving innovation while remaining actively engaged in operational execution. This position is a direct report to the CIO and is designed as a succession role into the CIO position.

  1. Organizational Transformation & Integration

  • Design and implement a unified IT organization post-merger, integrating systems, teams, and processes.

  • Define target operating models, governance, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.

  • Drive cultural integration, change management, and hands-on leadership in critical phases.

  1. Digital Platforms & Data

  • Build agile product teams to deliver scalable, user-centric digital solutions aligned with business needs.

  • Establish enterprise-wide data governance, analytics capabilities, and promote data-driven decision-making.

  • Standardize Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Harmonize time recording systems, integrate with HR/payroll, and align with labor regulations.

  • Implement centralized access control aligned with cybersecurity and identity management.

  1. IT Operations & Security

  • Lead design and modernization of global IT infrastructure, including cloud and hybrid architectures.

  • Oversee proactive cybersecurity, SOC operations, and compliance with global standards.

  • Implement ITIL-based service management, unified service desk, and real-time monitoring.

  • Optimize virtualization platforms for scalability, cost efficiency, and lifecycle management.

  1. People & Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and develop a global IT team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

  • Create clear career paths, succession plans, and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Promote hands-on leadership and direct problem-solving engagement.

Job requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 10–15 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including post-merger integration and organizational restructuring.

  • Proven track record in digital transformation, IT operations, and enterprise architecture.

  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to engage directly in solution design and troubleshooting.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in regulated industries or multi-entity environments is a plus.

  • Readness for 20% of travelling.
