We are looking for

Senior Equipment Engineer

at one of our locations in APAC region - China (Taicang)

Your tasks:

1.     Technical Leadership & Capability Development

• Provide technical expertise and support for equipment-related topics across manufacturing sites

• Drive competency development, training, and knowledge transfer within Equipment Engineering globally

• Promote best practice sharing and continuous development of engineering capabilities

2.     Equipment Lifecycle & Asset Management

• Manage manufacturing equipment throughout its complete lifecycle, from specification and commissioning to upgrades and decommissioning

• Define equipment requirements, technical standards, and asset management strategies

• Support lifecycle cost optimization, asset utilization, upgrades and obsolescence management

3.     Equipment Reliability & Operational Excellence

• Improve equipment performance, reliability, and availability through data-driven analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Support and/or lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions

• Utilize KPIs and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and Reliability Engineering to enhance operational performance

4.      Capital Projects & Industrialization

• Support and lead capital investment projects, including RFQ activities, supplier selection, equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification

• Participate in and lead FAT/SAT activities while ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and performance targets

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external suppliers throughout project execution

5.      Engineering Standards & Risk Management

• Develop, implement, and maintain global equipment engineering standards, specifications, and best practices

• Conduct equipment risk assessments and support FMEA activities

• Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements

6.      Technology & Innovation Management

• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance manufacturing capabilities

• Evaluate and implement innovative equipment, automation, and digitalization solutions

• Contribute to the development of future technology roadmaps and manufacturing strategies

7. Potential additional regional responsibility in the future

• Bachelor's/Master's degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields

• IATF 16949

• Automotive core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, …)

• Machine Safety, Risk Assessment, CE Compliance, Machinery Directive/Regulation, ISO 13849, IEC 62061

• Fluent Chinese and English

• Willingness to travel (50% within the region)

• Experience in automotive industry (international OEM experience is nice to have)
